Community Choice gives passionate people working with small charities and CICs all over Britain the chance to secure a grant of £1,000 for their organisation.
Community Choice is for charities and CICs with an annual income of £300,000 or less. It’s designed to be a quick and easy way to put your organisation forward to receive a grant. To nominate you must check your organisation is eligible and then submit a form. This is the only way we can accept nominations. We will not count any nominations received by email.
Employees or volunteers for the organisation can complete the nomination form
The nominating person needs to be a paid employee or a volunteer with the organisation to answer a few brief questions. This is because we need a small amount of information about the organisation for it to be nominated. The process will take about 10 minutes. Ten organisations will be selected at random to be awarded the £1,000 grant. Nominate now!
Know an organisation that should get involved?
If there is a fantastic organisation in your community that you think should take part, why not tell them about the funding by tagging them in one of our social posts?
There is some information that will need the input from the organisation. It will be tricky for you to answer a question about what the money will be spent on if you are not part of the organisation. Please ask someone involved in the organisation to complete the form.
No, you must use the form above.
Many organisations have multiple volunteers and staff members, if multiple people nominate the same organisation this is acceptable. We will not accept multiple nominations from the same person for the same organisation.
This funding round is focused on supporting organisations that deliver services within Norfolk.
Norfolk is a county in the East of England and includes areas such as Norwich, Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn, Thetford, Cromer, Dereham, North Walsham, Fakenham, Wymondham and surrounding villages and rural communities.
To be eligible, organisations must be able to demonstrate that their activities benefit people living in Norfolk.
We may ask applicants to provide details of the geographical area they serve as part of the due diligence process.
Community Choice occasionally focuses on specific geographical areas as a way of reaching and supporting communities across different parts of the country.
By concentrating funding within a particular area, we can shine a spotlight on local organisations, celebrate the work they do and ensure support reaches a diverse range of communities over time.
The locations selected for Community Choice may vary from round to round, helping us engage with organisations working in different regions and responding to the needs of local communities.
If a nominated organisation is selected for a Community Choice grant, we will carry out our standard eligibility and verification checks. Once these checks have been completed successfully, the grant will be paid directly to the organisation’s bank account.
We aim to make payments within four weeks of notifying successful organisations, although this may vary depending on how quickly any required information is provided.
You can nominate if you work with a charity or CIC that has:
- Activities that improve health and wellbeing in England, Scotland and Wales
- An annual income of £300,000 or less
- Been running for 2 years or more
- A bank account in the organisation’s name
- Delivering services in Norfolk
This opportunity was open from Monday 20 April (9.30am) – Friday 1 May (noon)
It offered funding for projects supporting adults aged 25 and over to take part in arts and activities.
We are currently assessing the applications and successful applicants will be notified by the end of July 2026.
