£10,000 to Norfolk – ten excellent small organisations receive £1,000 grants

Thanks to players of The Health Lottery this funding round offered charities and CICs with an annual income of £300,000 or less the opportunity to receive a £1,000 grant.

Coastal Health & Wellbeing
Coastal Health & Wellbeing works to improve physical, mental, and economic wellbeing in and around Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. This grant will help address the key challenges facing coastal and rural communities, including health inequalities, social isolation, food insecurity, and economic inactivity.

Equipping Nurturing Young People (ENYP)
The grant will support the organisation’s growing food poverty initiatives, helping those suffering from the deepening cost of living crisis. ENYP runs food pantries, social supermarkets, community meals, food growing schemes as well as providing emergency food parcels.

Friends of John Grant School
Friends of John Grant School work to raise funds that provide children with special educational needs access to opportunities, equipment, and experiences beyond the school’s budget. Through fundraising and community support, they help enrich learning, promote inclusion and ensure every child can reach their full potential.

Keeping Abreast
This grant will be used to deliver peer-led support groups, one-to-one volunteer support, a helpline, wellbeing activities, volunteer training and essential coordination costs. This will ensure people facing breast reconstruction can access free emotional and practical support, helping improve mental wellbeing and reduce isolation.

Menopause & Cancer CIC
This money funds a 2-day wellbeing retreat in Norfolk for 24 people experiencing menopause after cancer. This causes sudden, severe, long-term symptoms and isolation. Expert facilitators will lead workshops on symptom management, mental health, exercise, nutrition and create connections to improve wellbeing, and long-term health outcomes.

The BUILD Charity
The funding given will help cover volunteer expenses. These people are supporting adults with disabilities to attend days out and short breaks as part of their GetAways programme. This offers new and positive experiences for members who could not attend without volunteer support.

The Mason Trust
£1,000 will positively impact approximately 15 young people through the Small Change Grant. This addresses immediate financial barriers by helping them to overcome circumstantial blockers to personal progress or wellbeing. This limited fund is enabled through donations and makes such a difference.

Shrublands Youth & Adult Charitable Trust
Shrublands Community Food Club is not-for-profit project providing affordable food and promoting dignity and community connection. While volunteers support delivery, experienced paid staff ensure safe, consistent operations. Staffing is the main unfunded cost and is vital to maintaining a reliable, sustainable service. This grant will support staffing.

Stand Easy Military Support
£1,000 will allow support to be expanded to more veterans living with the effects of PTSD and trauma. It will be used to fund acupuncture treatments and holistic wellbeing programmes, that offer practical, non-invasive support that helps improve mental health, reduce stress, and restores hope to those who have served our country.

Wellspring Family Centre
This grant will be split between two projects. Well-come which is a mental health support group, where the money would fund activities and Food Cabin which is a social supermarket. This essential project, cuts the cost of food to those in the local area.
