Over a period of two years we are supporting St John Ambulance’s Young Responder’s programme, enabling them to expand into the East Midlands. The Young Responders’ team have been giving us regular updates about the workshops they are delivering across the region. On Wednesday August 19, we took up an invitation from them to visit a knife crime workshop taking place in Northampton. It was a great opportunity to see the skills and experience of the team in action, and hear more about the type of challenges their young workshop participants face.
Donna Cook, our Director of Finance & Operations said,
“This was a powerful session highlighting the impact of local partnership working, alongside practical, potentially life-saving first aid techniques using everyday items found in a school bag. It was a really interesting session and great to see the team in action.”
The event was held in the YMCA in Northampton and marked the first collaboration between St John Ambulance Young Responders, RWMS (Rob White Mentoring Services) and the YMCA, bringing together organisations with a shared commitment to supporting young people and safer communities.
Thanks to the YMCA for hosting us and the Young Responders Team for inviting us along.
