Our first open round for grant applications closed on Friday 27 June. We were impressed by both the quality and volume of applications we received.
In total we had almost 2,400 applications over 2 weeks.

We know that the sector is under huge pressure and that funding applications take a lot of time. We would like to thank everyone that applied for the hard work they put in. Even if your application is not successful this time, we appreciate receiving information about your vital work.
Next steps in shortlisting
Over the summer our team will be working on shortlisting applications. We will be distributing £500,000 in this round. Successful applicants will be contacted by the end of September. We are sorry but we will not be able to provide feedback to individual applicants.
Future funding opportunities
This is the first year of distributing funds for The Health Lottery Foundation. Each funding round that we organise will help us to shape our programme for next year. By the end of this year, we will have had at least one:
- Closed round
- Open round
- Voting round
