Thanks to players of The Health Lottery, we are giving away a grant of £5,000 to one charity working to support those impacted by chronic illness.
A public vote to award £5,000
Over the next week, seven fantastic charities have an equal opportunity to receive a £5,000 grant, which will be decided by a public vote. Although we are only making one grant, every other charity that takes part will receive £500. We also hope that over the week, we will help to raise the profile of everyone taking part.
Focusing on chronic illness
Our mission is to try and reduce the health disparities that cause chronic conditions, but we acknowledge that there is still a huge amount of work to do in supporting people who are suffering from existing chronic diseases. There are many voluntary organisations dedicated to supporting specific chronic conditions. According to the Mental Health Foundation, 30% of the UK population – live with one or more long-term conditions. We’re highlighting seven charities that help inform, advocate and support people with chronic diseases, including skin cancer, asthma, kidney disease and dementia.
